In a centrally located area in Haarlem stands a former slaughterhouse area from the early 20th century. The future purpose of the historic buildings and area was not clear and a reason for much debate. For the owner, the municipality of Haarlem, we investigated the various possibilities for transforming an area with historic buildings into a vital new city quarter with music as an important theme. We supported with factsheets, communication with stakeholders, probing of various themes, development scenario’s, financial perspectives and a prospectus for follow-up.
