The QUEST National Seminar, held on May 29th in the city of Cluj-Napoca and organized by Eurodite represented a good occasion to verify that initiatives such as Quest are very useful in the Romanian context.
The seminar was attented by representatives of the participant cities (Cluj Napoca, Baia Mare, Satu Mare) as well as the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration who is currently developing the new legal framework for Sustainable Mobility Plans in Romania.
Quest enabled the start-up of a participatory process in sustainable mobility planning. In particular, the meeting between local and central level brought up a list of relevant issues that will be taken on by the representatives of the Central authority in drafting the Priority Action Plan for Romania.
The Quest Action Plans, drafted during the project by the auditor in collaboration with the local authorities, will become part of the background study of the cities in drafting their local sustainable mobility plan in the upcoming period. The cities expressed their desire to take on the results of Quest further and requested assistance in enhancing local capacity within the public institution with respect to mobility and start implementing projects.
