Galati Port authority together with Smart City Agency Vienna organised a workshop on the 16th of November 2016. The theme of discussion was the possibility to create a fast boat connection between Galati and the Danube Delta.

Joep de Roo participated as an expert to highlight regional development and EU financing possibilities for this promising idea. This development will positively impact both the attractiveness of the urban area of Braila-Galati, as well as improve the accessibility to the Danube Delta, one of Europe’s greatest nature reserves.
